The cell that is found in all multi cellular organisms is called stem cells. These stem cells are of two kinds, they are embryonic stem cells and adult stem cells. The specialty of the stem cells is that it renews the white blood cells. It renews itself as it has the capability to undergo numerous cycles of cell division. While going through the process of cell division it maintains its undifferentiated state. The stem cells give rise to different cell type. Stem cells regenerate tissues for a lifetime. Due to its unique nature to generate mature cell type it is required for several fatal diseases. More likely, the disease of bone marrow transplantation requires the stem cells. There are different methods to store the blood containing stem cells. There are few sources of blood rich in stem cells, which are required to cure few fatal diseases. There have been few controversies surrounding embryonic stem cells. The points put forward towards the usage of embryonic stem cells by some ethical group can be washed if we use the adult stem. It washes away the controversy as it does not use, create or destroy human embryos.
The adult stem cells have the capability to renew it. Hence, it may give rise to cells, tissues and organ. Adult Stem cells are found after embryonic development, which can replenish dying and damaged tissues. The nature of such cells is undifferentiated. Few fatal diseases like cancer and birth defects are due to abnormal ell division and differentiation. Adult stem cells may be used to test few drugs too. Such drugs are generally used on animals and human testers. Once the same will be used on adult stem cell a new horizon will open in the world of medical science. Adult stem cell is taken from adult tissue samples and not from destroyed human embryos. Olfactory Adult stem cells are been harvested from human olfactory mucosa cells. These cells are found in the lining of the nose and they are involved in smelling. With the right kind of chemical research, these cells have the exact capability to produce different cells types just like embryonic stem cells. These cell types can be harvested in a painless way and from all.
Lots of researches have proved that the Adult stem cells are vital for human treatments. It has been seen that the adult stem cells have proved very important for diseases like Parkinson’s diseases, Schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s diseases, Cancer, Spinal Cord injury, diabetes and many more. There have been debates over the usage of stem cells by few ethical groups. For the sake of mankind and for the development of science the research of stem cells is going on and it is proving fatal for all. Further, it is important for diseases, which can be cured by stem cells, are acute leukemia, osteoporosis, spinal cord injury, strokes, burns, metabolic disorder and many more. Further, it has been proved that the human heart and brain contains stem cells too. In the recent years the further discoveries on stem cells will prove fatal for all.
